How to play Mega Sena
Mega Sena players can select anything from 6 to 15 numbers for their entry, with the cost of the Mega Sena entry increasing as more numbers are selected. Selecting the minimum of 6 numbers is therefore the simplest and least expensive way to play, though of course many players choose to enter more numbers at a higher cost in order to increase their chances of winning. The number of entries required to play the various quantities of numbers allowed is shown in the table below:
|Numbers Selected||Mega Sena Entries Required|
Players can choose their own Mega Sena numbers or play a Surpresinha entry which generates their Mega Sena numbers randomly, much like the Quick Pick or Lucky Dip features of other lottery games. Players can also choose to enter their numbers for two, four or eight consecutive Mega Sena draws in advance.
Like many other lottery games, Mega Sena requires players who win a prize to make their claim within a certain amount of time. Specifically, Mega Sena players have up to 90 days from the draw taking place to claim their prize. If they fail to meet this deadline then they forfeit the Mega Sena prize and the money is added to the fund that supports educational programs in Brazil.
